So without any more delay let’s announce my new club!įor those of you who don’t know the badge I am off to Millonarios FC in Colombia! I wrote down 4 or 5 teams that I really wanted to takeover throughout the save and when one of those jobs came up I had to go for it. With a 3* star reputation I was never ever going to get the MASSIVE jobs in South America and to be honest I didn’t want that. It’s been amazing fun, I always find getting the “first job” in a save the hardest thing to get right and it’s been brilliant that I feel I’ve found such an amazing place to start this save.īut now it’s time to say goodbye to Chile and move on to pastures new. RB Echeverria, CB Pereira, LB Ibacache, DM Rivera and CM Madrid have been incredible throughout and even though a few of them have lost their place they have never complained and when called upon have done the job. I’ll be keeping an eye of these lads for sure.Īnother thing that’s really pleased me is, even after 6 seasons, I still have a nucleus of lads who have been here from day one. 3 of these are first XI regulars and 1 man, Jesus Gallindo has just won his first Chilean international cap. It’s been amazing but what has pleased me the most of how good the intakes have been and how well I’ve managed to develop those players to become first team regulars.Īt this moment in time I leave the club with a first-team squad of 30 players and 13 of these are youth intake players. In my time here we have won 3 Primera A titles, 3 Copa Chiles and 3 Super Cups, twice we have won the League/Cup double. When I took over I knew we had a chance to push on quickly, I never thought we top the HOF so quickly though. As always I didn’t want a massive club who are currently dominating but I club who have had success but need a “Steve Robbins boost” to make them great again!īut before that I want to speak a little bit about my 6 seasons at Everton. I said I would never quit so it was all about waiting for an opening and it took until April for THE job to come up. So my head has won this time and that means I am moving on. The young lads are great but they are not good enough to be pushing South Americas elite and with the challenge to top all of the South American nations Hall of Fames I don’t have the time to be spending another 5+ seasons dominating domestically and making marginal gains continentally. In the league we are dominating and it has got slightly too easy but in the continental competitions we are so far behind. This season our group consisted of River Plate, Gremio and Alianza Lima, personally I felt we had a good chance but after 4 games we have 2 points. We will gloss over the new ground as it is never going to happen, well not soon anyway! With regard to the Copa Libertadores, we failed at the group stage last year but I put it down as a single season set back due to a tough group. I also had the hope that we could begin the progress further in the Copa Libertadores and get a new ground. The main reason around this was I have so many amazing young players at the club who I couldn’t say goodbye too. If you had read my previous post you will know that at the end of the season I won the League and with that topped the Chilean Hall of Fame, technically, in challenge terms, this meant I had to move on to another South American country but I let my heart rule my head and decided to stay. My 6 seasons at Everton de VIna have been nothing short of incredible and I do this with a heavy heart but I know deep down this is the right thing to do. Among the items up for grabs are tickets to the Papa Johns Trophy Final, a year’s supply of pizza and FMFC 23 home shirts.Welcome back to this rather impromptu update!
